Untern Berg - On the Fennberg

The organic farm Unternberg is located high above the South Tyrolean lowlands in the immediate vicinity of the idyllic Fennberg Lake at 1,020 m above sea level. Surrounded by meadows and forests, the Schweiggl family grows vegetables and fruit here according to biodynamic farming methods. In the listed farmhouse, whose roots go back 800 years and which the family restored themselves, two exclusive holiday flats offer plenty of space for guests who are looking for and appreciate a holiday close to nature.

Holidays at "Hof Unternberg" are a dream for nature lovers and friends of remote places in South Tyrol. With us you stay in historical walls, spend your day in the midst of untouched nature and enjoy quiet evenings under a starry sky. Our 2 holiday flats have recently been renovated, and we have placed great emphasis on sustainable construction. We have taken most of our furniture and construction wood from our own forests, towels and bed linen are made of certified organic cotton.

Some say that at the Unternberg farm everything is a bit like it used to be. We think we are ahead of the times. Because we grow a wide variety of vegetables and strawberries here according to biodynamic principles controlled by ABCERT IT BIO 013. We pay attention to sustainability, a large part of the soil cultivation is done with the help of animals. We mainly use seed-resistant varieties and promote healthy plant growth through well-planned mixed cultivation. We also take care to activate soil life and avoid soil compaction by means of good compost management.

Our Demeter certified products are available directly at our farm and at the markets in the surrounding area. From the beginning of June to December, our customers can find us every Tuesday at the organic farmers' market on the town hall square in Bolzano. In addition, from the end of June to the beginning of October we can be found every Saturday at the market in the centre of Mezzolombardo.

Our products are available, depending on seasonal availability, in Schweiggl's organic shop under the arbours in Neumarkt. At the farm our products are only available by advance order (tel. +39 333 2156380).
